Illustrated City SINGAPORE
Illustrated City SINGAPORE (Singapore) with illustrator Priscilla Tey
Singapore is usually just a stopover for me between Australia and Europe, but this time I’m taking the chance to explore it properly with talented illustrator Priscilla Tey. Together we explore Joo Chiat’s vibrant streets - starting with kopi and kaya toast at Chin Mee Chin, discovering her love of the Five Foot Walkways, and admiring the colourful Peranakan houses while sampling local snacks like putu piring and carrot cake. We also visit Marina Bay Sands, the ArtScience Museum, and the Hewlett Packard Welcome Centre featuring Priscilla’s mural, before heading to Tiong Bahru to enjoy its architecture and a Michelin-recognised Singaporean dish. The episode ends at the National Gallery Singapore and Pearl’s Hill Terrace, where the Arterly Obsessed studio offers a closer look at Priscilla’s inspirations and work as an illustrator.
